BIBLE TEXT: Jeremiah 1:5-10
[5]Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
[6]Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
[7]But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
[8]Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
[9]Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
[10]See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

LESSON AIM: To educate teenagers about the concept of gender identity and acknowledgement.
INTRODUCTION: God created humans both male and female. There is a difference between the two. Men are not women, and women are not men. Each gender has something that is distinct and special.
Gender identity is often understood within the framework of God’s creation of humanity as male and female (Genesis 1:27). This foundational scripture affirms the binary nature of gender, reflecting God’s intentional design for humanity. Throughout the Bible, there are references to roles and responsibilities associated with gender, such as the roles of husbands and wives in marriage (Ephesians 5:22-33, Colossians 3:18-19) and the distinctions between men and women in certain contexts (1 Corinthians 11:3-16, 1 Timothy 2:8-15).

A UNDERSTANDING GENDER IDENTITY
B. EMBRACE YOUR IDENTITY.
A. UNDERSTANDING GENDER IDENTITY
Gender refers to biological distinctions in male and female embodiment. As Christians, we recognize the ways that God has designed both men and women as distinct, yet equal expressions of humanity.
Here are some key physical differences between males and females.
i. Reproductive organs
ii. Secondary Sexual Characteristics
iii. Body Composition
iv. Height and Size
v. Chromosomal Differences
B. EMBRACE YOUR IDENTITY.
i. The word of God (bible) is our standard, anything contrary should be disregarded. Psalm 32:8, Psalm 25:4-5
ii. Embrace your gender identity and roles from scripture, not man-made tradition, societial approval, family, or feelings. Mark 10:6
iii. God gave you a gender identity for a reason. Jer. 1: 5 Do not conform to transgender behavior and practices no matter how popular it has become. It is a sin.
iv. Cross-dressing is sinful because it violates the creational boundaries between male and female. The Bible forbids men and women from dressing as the opposite gender. Deut. 22:5
SUMMARY: Gender acknowledgement is rooted in the recognition of the unique qualities and roles assigned to men and women by God. The bible emphasizes the inherent value and dignity of both men and women, their complementary roles within the family and society, and the call to mutual respect, honor, and service.
CONCLUSION: As child of God who has identity in Christ, you need to think of yourself as part of God’s family; sharing in His values and incorporating them into your life. It becomes part of who you are and informs the decisions you make each day. When people ask you about yourself, you share about the influence Jesus has in your life. Forming your spirit in deep friendship with God is the only way to peace, salvation, and your true identity.
QUESTIONS:
1. How do you embrace your gender?
2. What are the common trends on gender crises amongst teenagers today?
